'Championing the rights of children'

South West

Much discussion has been undertaken during 2010 with how to best manage the region with regard to firmly establishing the FLSE in the South West.

Many of these discussions have been with the South and West Association of Leaders in Special Schools (SWALSS).

SWALSS was formed as an association in 2001, created by Headteachers to serve the needs of Headteachers, their Deputies and School Business Managers.

SWALSS is committed to the development of key skills in the field of special education, and seeks to do this by representing the views of all its members.

Its prime purpose is to continue to organise conferences for Headteachers, Deputies and School Business Managers. These conferences are now in their 22nd year and as popular as ever.

Given its position in the South West, SWALSS is clearly the perfect and obvious partner for the FLSE in this region to collaborate on providing the right help, guidance, support and direction for all leaders within special education.
